 The excerpt from "Agent Carter" depicts the misrepresentation of woman. Specifically, against the protagonist Agent Carter. There are various camera movements, shots, and mise en scenes and other technical elements that support the representation of the theme. In the intro, there is a fading in and the atmosphere dim lights represents the gravity of the situation. The shallow focus on the protagonist's face shows specific focus on the emotions. This makes the audience feel empathy for her.

Next, there is an establish shot of Brooklyn New York, and the scene looks to be in the early 1900s. This supports the time taken place in which gender inequality existed in real life. Furthermore, there is a wide shot of the office in which it takes place. There is no computers in sight, which further proves the time period in which it is taken place in the 1900s. Next, we see the mise en scene of costume is suits. However, we see the protagonist's outfit, as an empowerment of women. Next, we see an over the shoulder shot of one of the agents asking the protagonist for a file. After, it is shown that she has already done the work, but her effort is dismissed, further proving the representation of gender inequality. Furthermore, there is low key lighting. This represents her still dealing with her loss and still moving on. Additionally, we have a wide shot of the group of men going out for drinks, but the protagonist is not invited. This presents the fact that the group undermines her just because she is a women. Up next, there is action cut of the protagonist fighting. This proves that woman can be empowering, and tackles the misrepresentation of women. 

Moreover, the protagonist fights with a suit skirt. With this, the protagonist shows that she can be empowering while simultaneously showing feminine features such as a skirt, instead of a traditional men's suit. Moreover, we see reverse shots between one of the agents and the protagonist. The dialogue we hear is the man dismissing agent Carter and she should just take a break, even though the protagonist repeatedly explains that she does not need to. This further proves the fact that the men does not believe that the woman can do as good of a work.

All in all the use of various technical elements show the misrepresentation of woman. Furthermore, numerous technical elements make the audience feel emotions such as empathy for the protagonist. This makes a meaningful impact for not just the audience, but for the overall film.
